Beginners 6 Week Course
This course is a great introduction to the core pottery skills and techniques needed for beginners to join our weekly regular sessions.
The sessions will run on 6 consecutive Sundays, from 11am – 2pm (3 hours)
The cost is £360.00, which includes all materials and firings for the duration of the course.
Course content:
- Week 1 – Pinch Pots Create a pinch pot and using different effects to decorate, using slips, underglazes, texturing tools and masking
- Week 2 – Decorative Techniques Decorate tiles as a set or to play with different techniques such as stencilling, masking, sgraffito
- Week 3 – Coil Pots Use the extruder to make your own coil points and build on your decorative techniques
- Week 4 – Slab moulds Use a slab roller and make dishes using various moulds
- Week 5 – Lidded box Hone your attention to detail making a lidded box, learn slab construction methods
- Week 6 – Glazing An introduction to glazing the work you have created throughout the course
