Hanwell Pottery Partnership respects everyone’s right to privacy. This notice summarises what personally identifiable information we may collect, if any, and how we might use this information. This notice also describes other important topics relating to your privacy. Hanwell Pottery Partnership reserves the right to modify this privacy notice at any time. We will promptly reflect any such modifications in our website, and in the student handbook. 

Information Collection

In general, when you visit the Hanwell Pottery website you remain anonymous. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to us in order to view the website. There are occasions when we will ask for additional information, such as when you apply to join our Waiting List. In these cases, we will only collect personally identifiable information (such as name, telephone number and e-mail address) that you voluntarily provide through our website or via e-mail correspondence.

We will not sell or exchange your personal information at any time.  

Your personal information is retained until you choose to delete your name from our Waiting List, or for up to 3 months if we have not been able to get a response from you regarding becoming a student at Hanwell Pottery, or after 3 months of ceasing to be a student. At this point your personal details are removed from our records.

Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you visit our services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as you IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number, and the security code associated with your payment instrument.

Use of Information 

The legal basis for Hanwell Pottery Partnership collecting and processing your personal data is  

  • To fulfil a contract with the person whose data it is and/or 
  • Because we have explicit consent from the person whose data it is 

Name, email address and telephone numbers are used in the following ways: 

  • To manage our Waiting List – contacting those people to offer a place as a student, or to confirm whether they are still happy to wait 
  • Notify students of the costs due for the sessions and materials they have used 
  • Notify students of any changes / updates on session times, session dates etc. 

Students are also asked whether they wish to opt out of consent on the following two points: 

  1. For their image to be used in Hanwell Pottery publicity materials.
  2. For their phone number to be added to the Hanwell Pottery Swaps and Shares WhatsApp group.

We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents (‘third parties’) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct. The categories of third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

  • sales & marketing tools
