Throwing – Beginner Session

In this introduction to throwing on a pottery wheel you will be guided through the basic process:

• Preparing the clay
• Centering
• Opening
• Pulling up the walls

Following demonstrations, you will be supported to have a go yourself at throwing small cylinders / tea bowls. You can expect to keep 2 pieces, depending on what happens when you are throwing! For non-members, we will trim and glaze a maximum of 2 pieces per person, for collection approximately a month after the class. All materials are provided.
